Beaujolais is located in the eastern France, between the Burgundy and the Rhône wine regions. Beaujolais is known for its long wine tradition and represents one of the main wine producer regions of France.
Nicknamed “Little Tuscany”, this beautiful area is surrounded by charming hills and valleys. If you want to enjoy the region where Romans planted the first vineyards in Mount Brouilly, you can ascend this mountain and relax with the astonishing views of the hillsides. You can also taste a delicious meal in a traditional Beaujolais bistro or go for a walk in the village of Oingt, which is full of artisan workshops and artists’ studios.
May is a good time to visit Beaujolais due to its warm and pleasant weather, influenced by the Mediterranean climate. The vineyards area is divided depending on the soil type, which gives each wine a different taste and style.
The main wine specialities of Beaujolais region are: Beaujolais AOC, Beaujolais-Villages, Cru Beaujolais and Beaujolais Nouveau.
